Surgical Floor planned for St Mary's Medical Center

In November 2022, we opened a new Medical Center serving the residents in and around the oldest garbage slum area. The majority of these residents are Zabbaleen (garbage collectors), many of whom have never received medical attention.  Our dedicated staff and volunteer medical professionals have already provided thousands of hours of check-ups and consultations to families who previously lacked access to healthcare.  The clinic is currently operational offering primary care, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, and Optometry services including a pharmacy, dental care, and emergency services.

We now intend to establish a Surgical Floor on the second floor of the Medical Center.  This project will require a new build out with specialize equipment and finishes. Contact us if you are interested in learning more.  The Surgical Floor significantly impacts the daily lives of families living in one of Cairo’s major garbage-collecting districts.

Training Center

The Philomina Farm will be home to a new Training Center for our FAITH program.

The Families Advancing In Transformational Hope (FAITH) program is at the heart of Stephen’s Children’s ministry. FAITH comprises of hundreds of Ministry Leaders who serve in the garbage and squatter slums in the name of Christ Jesus. These Leaders act as resource navigators, mentors, pastors, and advocates for each family. Weekly visits focus on discipleship, including prayer and devotions. Together, Leaders and families address needs, obstacles, hopes, and dreams, with the ultimate goal of self-sufficiency.

Leaders begin by stabilizing families with essential items, called Provision Baskets, and then guide them in working toward their goals using the many resources developed by Stephen’s Children to meet the specific needs of the communities they serve.

Farah III

Stephen’s Children is planning a third language school, Farah III, a Christian Kindergarten through 12th-grade school. Farah III will serve a slum community not currently reached by Farah I or Farah II, both of which are at full capacity.

Farah Schools provide opportunities for underprivileged children living in slum areas to enroll in high-quality Christian language school education. Tuition is a sliding scale based on the family's ability to pay and is subsidized by supporters of Stephen’s Children. The school will be equipped with Science and Computer Labs, giving students access to essential academic resources.

The land for Farah III has been purchased, and we are currently working through the design and budget process before submitting for necessary approvals.

Angel Homes

In response to growing demand.  We are working to open more Angel Homes.  A 17th home is in its initial stages.  A building has been identified.  We are evaluating renovation costs and mapping out the zoning approval process.
